Referral arrangements
Groundsense has no referral arrangements at all and is paid by nobody except the people who buy a plan. This page exists before there is anything on it, because the rules below are easier to hold to now than once there is a commission waiting on the other side of them.
Why you are reading this
A product that tells you where to live is worth less the moment you suspect it is steering you. So if we are ever paid to introduce you to somebody, you will see how much before the introduction rather than in a footer afterwards. It will be listed here as well.
The rules we hold ourselves to
You see the fee before the introduction, not after
The amount or how it is calculated. Not we may receive a fee, which is the sentence everybody writes and which tells you nothing.
Three options, never one
For conveyancers, surveyors and removals you get three firms and a reason for each, because a single recommendation is indistinguishable from a sale. The one deliberate exception is a mortgage broker, where we would use one whole of market broker rather than ranking three. Ranking brokers is where an introduction starts to look like advice, which is a line we are not allowed to cross and do not want to.
The fee never comes from you
If a firm pays us for an introduction, that is between us and them. We do not add anything to what you pay them. We never take money from you for the introduction itself.
We do not give financial advice
Wellington Web Co is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and carries out no regulated activity. Nothing we publish is a recommendation about a mortgage. We will not tell you what you could borrow. That is a regulated opinion and it is not ours to give.
Current arrangements
None. When that changes this page will name each firm, the category, the amount and what triggers it.
What we are paid by today
People who buy a plan. Nobody else. The map is free and carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored placements.
