Households that own their home, every council ranked
Households owning their home, outright or with a mortgage, out of every household, at the 2021 census. Shared ownership is left out. Scotland counted a year later, so its councils are set only against each other. Figures for 2021, published for 329 councils in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Lowest first: the order says where a council sits, not whether that is good.
Lowest: Tower Hamlets, 23.1%. The council in the middle: Wigan, 66.4%. Highest: Rochford, 80.6%.
